Valentines Day is fast approaching and I am SO excited about it. I know some people think that Valentines Day is a made-up holiday, created by Hallmark, and its the epitome of commercialization… If you’re one of those who’s not into it, its not a deal breaker, we can still be friends. But I LOVE it, pun intended. I love the roses, love notes, dark chocolate dipped strawberries and love songs. I’d like to think Valentines Day is a good day to remember and show love for the amazing people in our lives. Its also a good reason to remember to love yourself.
As hard as it has been for me to find the balance between time for myself, getting healthier, mommy guilt, working and spending quality time with my family, it has been SO worth it. I feel like I have learned so much about myself and can honestly say FOR THE FIRST TIME IN MY ENTIRE LIFE, that I love myself. I will be the first to say, I’m flawed and I’m not everyones cup of tea, but I love and accept myself as a perfectly imperfect being, trying to do her best everyday. Interestingly enough, as I’ve become more accepting, forgiving and loving of myself and imperfections, I find that I have a deeper love for the people around me. Isn’t it funny how we project our insecurities onto those around us? Love yourself, forgive yourself, accept your imperfection, accept that you are a work in progress and watch your love for others grow!
I am so excited to share this little black dress on repeat with all of you. Remember when I wore it back in October? See the post here. It looks a little different doesn’t it? I paired it with my red peacoat and bright red pumps for this classic Valentines Day look.
