What to Wear During an Event..

Podcast / July 29, 2020 July 29, 2020 / Leave a Comment

What to wear when you are managing or hosting an event is something that I have struggled with. If you haven’t listened to Chelsey’s podcast yet where we discuss this topic then you missed a story where I wore the wrong outfit and was definitely paying for it later. It is important to not only …

Instagram post 2339018045026950116_523675634 Today I went to @traininsaneclasses •
For MONTHS @dirtyliciouserica has been inviting me to come try it and today was the day... and it was actually really, REALLY good. Not because it was social and fun like other workouts I enjoy (cough cough @dirtyliciousdancefitness), but because it was hard. Because it made me push past my body telling me to quit, because I kept going despite being tired. Because it reminded me a lot of my old boxing workouts a few years back, minus getting punched in the face, (around the time this photo was taken #throwback.)
•
Because at the end I felt like I had accomplished a really big thing, which we all did! I’m shocked to admit that I can’t wait to go back...
•
Head to my Instagram stories to watch some behind-the-scenes and
get all the details on how you can try it for free plus get access to their online workouts and free meal plan!
•
Bonus points if you notice that there’s totally a bug on my arm… did you notice it!? 🏆🏆🏆 #throwbackwednesday #wod #fitness #love #fitnessgoals #fitnessmotivation #beforeandafter #weightloss #igfitmoms @igfitmoms #ideal #protein #diet #eatclean #fitchick #lean #fit #fitnessinspiration
Instagram post 2337298502600390164_523675634 ✨The day you stop caring what others think about you, is the day you become your authentic self.✨
•
But being “authentic” should not be confused with being mean spirited, rude, or purposefully saying things to agitate, offend, or upset others. Mindfulness is key. You can respectfully listen to others, share differences in opinions, or disagree... it’s all about mutual respect. •
Call me crazy, but I feel like wow this world has a lot of evil things going on right now, and there are also a lot of good people and good things happening. We need to come together and realize that we have more in common than not. •
Don’t get hung up on the little things or create problems where there aren’t any. Choose to be the good, choose to see the good. We’re all in this together 💛🧡❤️💜💙💚

Instagram post 2332282387856019222_523675634 How important is a child’s relationship with a good father figure!? 🧐🧐🧐
•
“Dads [father figures] do not have to be perfect, and making a genuine effort to be there for children could make a big difference.”
•
I’ve been thinking about and researching the importance of healthy family relationships and the psychological and developmental benefits of father figures on children, and I’ve been blown away with my findings... (swipe to read some statistics). 👉🏼
•
Is this what is missing from our society today? Could this be a contributing factor to so much unrest in our world?
•
Could the whole “it takes a village” mentality truly be something we’re open to!? Are we really okay with that style of raising children!? I wonder if as a society, how we could do better to use our time to mentor and give back to kiddos in our communities?
•
I know I’m asking a lot of questions, my heart is searching for actionable ways for us to encourage ourselves to step up and do better for those around us... do you know of any organizations who facilitate these kinds of interactions for men and women who want to donate time!? Tell me your thoughts!! 💕

They also speak positively and offer ideas for others who dream, they are master networkers and willingly connect you with people who can elevate and help you succeed. They build you up and encourage you to get back up when you fall. They remind you that failure is part of the journey to success, and that it will be a journey... always.

I used these mini posters in the flower arrangements at my last dance party, and this picture made me smile. ::::::::sigh::::::::::
If you would’ve told me that my last dance party (the #PowerfulWomenDanceParty) might possibly be my last one for the year 2020 I don’t think I would’ve believed you… lt’s been such a crazy year already, and we’re only halfway there you guys. Here’s to becoming a little kinder, more empathetic, better listeners, stronger, and more resilient each day. 💕

Instagram post 2328698018604032853_523675634 Celebrating 34 years on this planet today.
•
I’m grateful for everyone who engaged in respectful conversation in my comments and in my DMs yesterday. My wish for today and everyday is that we continue to respectfully discuss, share, and support a world where we all feel safe and where we all belong. •
I know if we were to sit down (in person) and listen to one another, we would realize that we have way more in common as we are working towards the same goal of ending racism. Education, empowerment, and working together is how we’ll continue to make the world a better place today and for future generations. 🖤
•
Instagram post 2328011126531267173_523675634 Theres something SO disingenuous about having to prove that I’m anti-racist.
•
Am I supposed to talk about how I was raised with black art and toys in my childhood home? That my children have always had every skin color of babydoll in their toy room? That I get to work with and call many people of color my personal friend(s)? Am I supposed to post pictures of that 👆🏼👆🏼👆🏼 or an obligatory black square to prove that!?
•
Racism is wrong. PERIOD. I spent the past week listening to stories and hearing very powerful opinions… And I’m proud to say I didn’t learn anything I didn’t already know. Racism is wrong, and I believe each of us has the obligation to stand up for any injustices, speak truth, and ask for help to make changes and be better. I believe the solution here is going to come from empowering people to do the right thing and stand up (be it alone or standing together) in situations where people are being mistreated or hurt.
•
And I will be damned if I have to apologize for the color of my skin or the sins of other “white people” whom I don’t personally know or agree with. I cannot change the color of skin I was born with, just like you cannot change yours. This narrative is unproductive, it’s divisive, and it solves nothing. If you want change, have conversations in you home, at church, in school, with your neighbors, in your community, and others. If you want change, stand up for what is right when others are being mistreated, always. If you want change, continue to pass laws and choose representatives who are inclusive and also anti-racist.
•
This is the United States of America, the greatest country on the planet! And we’re great because of how we unite and pivot exactly how we should, so our country can to continue to make this a better place for future generations. 🇺🇸❤️#bethechange #bebetter #startathome #loveoneanother

The quote that was my iphone background reads “I didn’t come this far... to only come this far.” What a good reminder especially these days. •
We all have challenges and we’ll all have hardships that each of us will have to overcome (especially as it relates to our dreams and goals). Never in my worst nightmares did I expect all of us to be dealing with the same one, at the same time. But here we are... •
As we are approaching Summer here in Utah it’s looking like restrictions will continue to be lifted and I’m hoping to continue toward my goals and helping women grow their own businesses too. Times are tough, but we’re tough too!💕

Instagram post 2318494038632538401_523675634 Nick and I have always had a love/hate relationship with exercising together. •
I’m super competitive and because of that he hates (hated!?) working out with me. 😂😭 So for majority of the past 12 years of marriage we’ve done very little (as far as exercise goes) together, despite him always supporting me working out whether it was boxing or @dirtyliciousdancefitness.... •
Well friends, things change and this month we invested in a baby backpack and have already done three hikes! There may still be hope for us finding active things to do together and me getting off this quarantine 15… •
On a side note, @dirtyliciouserica is teaching her first LIVE class at @vasafitness in American Fork this Saturday and it feels like I’m dreaming!!! Who’s coming to dance!?

Instagram post 2317793825072840991_523675634 Sometimes it’s hard for me to accept that this is our “new normal” and real life right now… Do you agree!? •
There’s a big part of me that feels like we most definitely need to protect our most vulnerable citizens… But my personal opinion for myself is closer to: “Just give me this virus so I can have the antibodies and then move past it!”
•
When can we stop living in fear of using a non-wiped shopping cart!?
•
When will hugging others be an acceptable practice? 🤗
•
When can we ask our friends to play again?🤸🏽‍♂️
•
When will we be able to dance and have total strangers dancing alongside us, (literally right alongside) us!? 👯‍♀️
•
Will we be able to go back to school, enjoy sporting events, and gym classes where we don’t have to stay on “our circle“? When?🏫
•
I’ve never felt more like an impatient child than I do right now… not trying to cause arguments or heated debates here… Just curious if anyone else feels the way I do? Continue quarantining and hiding from the inevitable… Or get it over with?
