DIY Yellow Ribbon Rainboots

If bazillion were a real number, that’s how many compliments I’d get from wearing these adorable yellow ribbon boots. I am constantly stopped at the mall, grocery store, post office, frozen yogurt shops anywhere really and asked:

Random person: “Vhere did you get zose fabulous boots?”
(And yes, everyone that asks me is definitely rocking an accent.)
I’m all: “Oh these old things? Luis Vuitton gave them to me…”

Not. The reality: “Oh thanks, I just added ribbons to them!”
(Then the person asking looks at me in bewilderment and awe)

SCENE.

For this project you’ll need:
  • 2 pieces of thick yellow ribbon
  • a pair of rubber boots
  • an exacto knife
  • scissors
  • a lighter

Cut two 1.2 inch incisions into your boots where ever you’d like the bow to be. Make sure that you come down at least a 1/2 inch from the top. Cut the ribbon to the desired length and slide it through. Repeat steps on the other boot. Finish by tying a bow cutting a clean edge in the ribbon with the scissors. Now use the lighter to seal the edge of the ribbon and PRESTO!
