Every November we celebrate achievement at an night of excellence for the young women in my church. This entails each person presenting a skill, talent or goals that they achieved throughout the year and share it with the group.
As usual, this special night needed to a theme. This year we went with Hollywood and movies theme. The decorations included reels, clapboards, tingly lights, a red carpet, popcorn, a backdrop of fans, tickets and anything that said movies and Hollywood. It was complete with a popcorn machine, a drink fountain and a chocolate fountain to complete our concessions area. We wanted to feel little bit nicer so we used real plates and glasses.
The program for this event included the young women’s president speaking about how “all the world a stage”, she was followed by a special musical number by a very talented young woman and things ended with some comments from our wonderful bishop. This event was so much fun and I hope that the girls that were in attendance felt special and had fun!
The display table had a 4 x 6 photo of each of the girls name on a Hollywood star. This is one of the biggest hits of the night even though it was one of the least expensive things that was done for the event. Here is the link if you’d like to do it! I had the images printed at a local photo center.
Please share where you found your decoration or how you made them. We are doing a similar theme for YWIE next month and loved all of your pics.
Thanks
Most of these are from Hobby Lobby!
Thank you so much!
HI, love your décor! I am doing a daddy daughter dance with this theme and want to know how you print the 4×6 photos of the names and the stars? I see where you can make them, but unsure how you printed them?? Thank you!
Thank you so much !!! I used the link in the post (here it is again http://www.redkid.net/generator/star/) and then took a screen shot of each name. I uploaded those to the photo app at costco.com and printed them onto 4×6 photos. Good luck!
What do you think is the largest size the stars can be printed before they are pixelated?
I just did 4×6… but you might want to try a few sizes and proof it 🙂
