My sweet Jade turned three this month and I am SO excited to share this with all of you! I FINALLY threw her a real birthday party. I say finally because, I’ve just done very simple family get-togethers, no theme, no party favors, nada. So this party has been building up for about three years… It was time. My amazingly artistic brother drew this masterpiece, I think it was a really nice touch. Bravo Shawn!
So miss Jade is OBSESSED with tea parties lately and I thought it would be so fun to have her little friends come dressed to impress for a cup of tea. I was pleasantly surprised that the kids were so well behaved and had so much fun playing along with us.
Recognize this fancy table cloth? Yep, its on repeat from the Valentines brunch I did earlier this year. And that wasn’t the only thing. Did you know you could freeze cakes and rice crispy treats? Well you can. The mini teacups are from TaiPan and the napkins are from Ikea. But my favorite find was definitely the mini gold letters that spelt “Jade”. I found them for $1.50 a piece at Michaels!
I found this number three cake topper at Hobby Lobby. I think it paid off, Jade is pointing out the number three everywhere we go.
For the food table I wanted lots of pink with a few pastel colors to break it up. We served the perfect toddler menu: Apple juice “tea”, cake, cupcakes, rice crispy treats, pink marshmallows, cucumber and apple sandwiches. The kids loved it!Normally when I throw a party, I would do all of the setting up, making food, decorations and hostessing by myself, so I have hardly enough time to get ready for the party myself. You should see how I look while shooting most parties for my blog, think bag lady with less cats, okay no cats. Well I must be getting wiser as I do this more often, this party went so smoothly 100% because my amazing family helped me me with everything!
So gorgeous! You are truly talented, my friend. And I feel especially privileged that I got a sneak peek into some of this when it was actually happening. Happy birthday, Jade! Xoxo.
Thank you so much! I love that you got to see the behind the scenes 🙂
