I’ve actually been sick and in bed with the worst fever over the past three days. Of course that didn’t stop me from my other obligations which resulted in headaches, super sore muscles and feeling totally achy everywhere. Even today I’m not quite back to 100%, I’m thanking the Pfizer Gods for creating Advil (luckily I stocked up on my Pfizer products the last time I was at Walmart and used this coupon, so I had them on hand) which has been helping me feel well enough that I could get our basketball watching party pulled together in the nick of time. Nothing’s stronger, longer lasting or better on your tough aches and pains than Advil* (*Among OTC brands)”*** Make sure you ask your doctor before use if you have a history of stomach problems, such as heartburn.
Who loves basketball season? My husband LOVES watching most sports, but basketball is his favorite. I love watching him watch it because he gets so excited when our team makes a basket, its so adorable. Last weekend we watched the game with our friends, I got some food requests together and set up a little party for a little college basketball watching. The menu included: chili dogs, nachos, chicken wings, pizza bites, homemade orange cream soda (recipe below), fruit and cupcakes. Basically everything (besides the cupcakes) on this list gives me heartburn after I eat it, so I normally avoid eating them.
There’s nothing worse than being at a party and not being able to enjoy yourself or the food because you know it’ll give you heartburn. In the past I was a big antacid fan, get heartburn and treat it by chewing on the chalky tablets and if that doesn’t work, chew on more! So, I was pleasantly surprised (because I was skeptical) when I tried Nexium 24HR to simply take one pill to fight off my food-associated heartburn for the entire day. Nexium 24HR, is the new #1 selling frequent heartburn brand* (*Based on IRI sales data 52 weeks ending 11/1/15 among OTC brands. May take 1 to 4 days for full effect. Use as directed.) After enjoying nachos (no jalapeños for me thanks!), part of a chili dog and some pizza bites, I was heartburn free. That’s never happened before, especially eating those kinds of foods!
Easy Homemade Orange Cream Soda INGREDIENTS:
- 1 1/2 cups sparkling water
- 1/4 cup orange juice concentrate
- prepared whipped cream
- paper straw
- an orange for garnish
INSTRUCTIONS:
To start making the orange peel garnishes, cut the ends off an orange.Use a spoon to separate the meat of the orange away from the peel. Repeat on both sides.
Remove the insides, and cut an opening into the peel.
Roll the orange peel into a tube and cut off uniform “slices”.
Roll them into smaller, very tight spirals. Set aside.
Combine sparkling water and orange juice concentrate until fully incorporated.
Add desired amount of whipped cream and garnish with a paper straw and orange peel garnish.
So whether it’s for yourself or your guests, (or if you’re just feeling spontaneous) make sure you have solutions like Nexium 24HR on hand so all of the food can be enjoyed without worrying about having heartburn afterwards. Unlike the antacid tablets I used to keep in my purse, car and nightstand, I simply take one Nexium 24HR and I’m heartburn-free for the day. If you have frequent heartburn and are looking to try Nexium 24HR, grab this ibotta coupon (before you head to Walmart) to save on your next purchase.
What heartburn causing food would you love to enjoy eating more?
That recipe looks so refreshing and surprisingly easy! I don’t experience heartburn consistently but the two triggers I’ve had in the past are pizza and wings. I just can’t stay away from them though, so I think I might try out the Nexium just to be prepared for the next time since it’s so predictable. #client
This is so easy to make too!
