A couple years ago during a birthday dinner with a few of my girlfriends, we got talking and I realized they didn’t know how old I was turning. Naturally, I asked them how old they thought I was turning (this could’ve gone either way) and they guesses younger. The guesses ranged from age 23-25, their reasoning: I only had one child and I had no tell-tale signs of aging (no wrinkles). Imagine my excitement as I announced that I was turning 28 years old! “That’s right, you’re a master esthetician,” reminded the of the ladies, implying that my commitment to professional skincare was the reason.
I had one word for them: Botox.
I’ve been getting Botox since I was 22, and I’ve introduced many of my friends to it over the years and now they’re hooked. Botox is the fastest and easiest way I know of to prevent wrinkles. For those of you who might be thinking about doing it, but are nervous, there is really only one rule of thumb: Go with experience!
I always say, “the most qualified person to do your treatment is always the person who does it the most.” Something I heard a lot when I worked in a MediSpa myself was; “I only want the doctor to do my treatment!” While a doctor is overseeing the entire facility, they may not be the most experienced person to give you the treatment. A plastic surgeon for example, is going to specialize in plastic surgery and do it everyday, while a nurse is going to specialize in Botox because they’ll do it everyday.
I have been on the hunt for a new place to get my Botox done since my last girl moved out-of-state for family reasons. When you’ve been getting Botox for that long, the nurse kind-of becomes your person and it’s hard to move on, mostly because it feels like cheating. In this case, I had no choice but to find someone new. A friend of mine (knowing I was a Master Esthetician) recommended me looking at Trilogy Medical Center in Midvale, Utah (near Salt Lake City). After doing some research on their website, I was really impressed and called to make an appointment to get my Botox done.
Everyone was warm and welcoming, but imagine my surprise as the nurse who performed the service was someone I follow on Instagram (@roxilifts) for fitness and food advice! I kind of knew it was her but I still had to ask and it WAS her!!! My face turned bright yellow and my eyes turned into giant hearts (yes, I describing the emoji) as I sat through the consultation in sheer excitement. #FanGirl #Ihadamoment
She was so gracious and totally cool about the whole thing.
Roxi will ask you to make expressions and mark accordingly with a pencil.
She’ll spend about 45 seconds injecting the Botox into your skin. This does pinch a little, but it’s really a fast procedure.
Then 45 seconds later you’re good to go. It takes a few days for it to kick in, but the results and benefits are better than anything else I’ve tried.
Right now they have a killer deal on Botox for $9/unit through the end of June! Whether you’re looking for a new place or looking to try it out for your very first time, give Trilogy Medical Center a call!
Comment below if you’ve ever had Botox done! I’d love to hear your experience with it! Did I mention I’m obsessed with this lady?
Ok… I got my first injections today! I feel like running across this post today was a sign a made a great decision!
Congratulations!! I know you’ll love it!!!
