The Curtis Thanksgiving 2017

Can you believe it’s Already December? Where has the year gone!? Jade is officially back in school and it’s time for me to get back to blogging more regularly, so I thought I’d share a Thanksgiving update from last month! Thanksgiving at the Curtis Household has kind of turned into a “Friendsgiving”, before my brother and sister-in-law moved to Utah (just a few months ago) we literally had zero family here. And after living in Utah for the past 14 years, you better believe I consider my friends to be my family as they are there for almost everything (from birthdays to emergencies), but especially the holidays.

I know I’ve said this before, but Thanksgiving is my favorite dinner party to host, it’s the biggest one of the year and so much time, love, more time and SO MUCH LOVE goes into my Thanksgiving table and menu.

Look familiar? This tablescape was inspired by my Thanksgiving table two years ago, I’ve loved the rose gold chargers from Crate & Barrel, all of the metal tones really, so I decided to dust it off and give it another go.

EVERYTHING from the decor, place settings and stemware was in storage and looked as good as new with a little cleaning and polishing up.

Miss Jade (such a doll) helped me set and decorate the kid’s table, with a little of my help. And I have to hand it to her, she did a great job. The kids table used plastic silverware and it worked really well and still looked classy and elegant.

Because we were a bit fewer in numbers this year, the menu was broken down to the basics and our MOST favorite dishes. We served: Citrus and sage turkey, pineapple and honey ham, stuffing, glazed pears, creamed corn, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, rolls, and gravy. It was perfection!

It was truly wonderful to be gathered together around the table and spend the day with our friends. We feel truly grateful for another year of happiness and health surrounded by those whom we love.
