I am so delighted to have partnered with StorkCraft for this post. All opinions are my own. My Black and White Geometric Nursery Reveal
Isn’t it so funny how your style changes over the years? Six years ago when I was pregnant with Jade, (if she would’ve been a Boy) I would have chosen a sweet nautical seascape theme with a monochromatic color scheme of blues, little sailboats and blue whales.
But not for this little guy… For this one I wanted to create a space that felt clean and modern, yet bold and fresh. Make sure to read along to see what I chose and where I found them. And I have to say, I LOVE this room. I find myself walking in just to fluff the pillow and rock in the chair, which usually results in fluffing the pillow again.
Black and White Geometric Nursery Reveal
The Furniture
I searched high and low and finally found the perfect modern pieces for this room, a Natural Wood Crib and Dark Gray Rocker from StorkCraft online (bonus points for not having to leave my house to do all my shopping).
I wanted a natural colored wooded crib with modern lines and this Eastwood Crib in the color “whitewash” was perfect. It also comes in white, espresso, and gray which make it very versatile for any nursery color scheme.
This sleek and modern rocker, the Steveston Rocking Chair (in night sky), is as comfy as it is beautiful. It’s not uncommon to find Miss Jade rocking her stuffed animals and reading to them in it.
The white knit throw and black and white stripped pillow were the perfect pieces for tying the rocker, rug and bedding of this modern nursery all together.
The Details
Looking for decor was a little harder because I wasn’t able to find a lot of black and white “baby” decor. But I was able to find a few pieces of art, the geometric rug and some greenery at Hobby Lobby, and I’m happy with how it turned out.
The Bedding
Obviously the bedding (from Carousel Designs) makes the black and white part of this entire nursery theme come together. With Jades Nursery, my mom came and helped make everything. It was a luxury I didn’t have this time around but I still wanted to create that custom feel.
I loved being able to choose custom patterns and create this bedding from Carousel Designs (isn’t this black and white cactus print so dreamy!?) I put it together using their custom bedding app on their website, which allows you to choose your patterns and literally drag-and-drop them into the app and see what your choices would look like in an actual crib. It took all of the uncertainty out of the process as you could see it come to life, it is seriously a game changer… Check it out here.
The Light Fixture
It’s not hanging up yet, but I found this stunning brushed brass light fixture on Amazon and I can’t wait for my hubby to get it put up.So this is it for the sneak peek, I can’t wait together the accent wall finished and find the perfect dresser to complete this space! Stay tuned and tell me what you think in the comments below!
