Last month we were totally feeling the itch to get out of the Utah snow. Yes, it was snowing and it’s ONLY October people!!! Generally, I only need one good reason to head to sunny California and enjoy some R&R time with family… and doing so in the wizarding world, at Universal Studios in Hollywood seemed like just what the Dr. ordered.

For anyone who’s been following along here for a while, you already know how much Nick and I loved visiting Harry Potter World at Universal Studios in Orlando… I know, we’re super-duper lucky. And since we had our cute kiddos along for the ride this time (who had never been), and Jade just finished reading the third Harry Potter book, it felt like it was time.

First of all, the day could not have been more beautiful and perfect. It’s times like these that I miss living in Southern California SO, so much. Luckily Miss Jade just hit 49 inches tall and was able to ride on anything that she wanted. And being the little daredevil she is, she took full advantage and rode everything we did, including the MUMMY rollercoaster! #ProudMommyMoment

We loved visiting Harry Potter world, drinking butter beer, shopping at Honeydukes, and riding the castle ride at Hogwarts. And even though I was born and raised in Southern California, once I got married and moved to Utah m ( it’s been 11 years now) my hot hubby and I have only gone to Universal in Orlando and had never been to the Universal Studios in California together.
Going in October was especially fun because the whole park was decked out with fun Halloween decorations that had a more mature feel, and many of them went along with a lot of the movies that Universal Studios has produced.
If I had to choose a personal favorite ride, it would definitely be the Back Lot studio tour. Oh my gosh it was so incredible and the way they film makes it all so realistic… Not to mention baby Sterling could ride this one with us 🙂

We really had the best time and loved sharing the day with our friends and family. We can’t wait to go back, and are counting down until next time.
